Sarah McTavish - Therapist & Counsellor

Hello, I’m Sarah. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or are having other unhelpful emotions you’re not alone and change is possible. I offer solution focused CBT/REBT: a structured yet flexible approach that helps you understand what’s keeping you stuck and introduces practical tools to move forward. I am also trained in EMDR.

Whether you’re currently experiencing anxiety, low mood, anger, family or work stress, or emotional patterns that no longer serve you, therapy can help you feel more in control. Together we’ll explore the thoughts and habits that fuel your distress and gently shift them towards healthier more empowering alternatives. My approach is empathetic, practical, and evidence based to support you to heal old wounds, challenge unhelpful patterns, set goals to build a life that feels calmer, clearer, and more your own.

Prior to training as a Psychotherapist my previous career in the commercial world and being a parent at the same time gave me a deep understanding of how complex, stressful, and emotionally demanding life can be. It also taught me that listening—properly listening—isn’t passive. It’s an active, compassionate skill that can help people feel safe enough to explore what hurts and to work towards feeling more confident and content with your life. I am here to help and guide you to make that change.
