Georgia Anderson

MNCPS (Acc)
Georgia Anderson - Integrative Psychotherapist & Couples Therapist

My name is Georgia Anderson, I am a Transpersonal/Integrative Psychotherapist and Couples Counsellor working in Walthamstow.

I have four years of counselling experience in placement and clinic, working one-to-one and with couples. I have completed a four-year diploma in Transpersonal and Integrative Psychotherapy at the Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) and prior to this a Foundation course in basic counselling skills.

I trained on the CCPE diploma course in Couples Counselling and Intimate Relationship psychotherapy to further my ambition to work with couples.

Finding the right therapist can be a daunting process so I always strive to create a welcoming and nurturing environment, so that clients can feel supported and comfortable during the session. I tailor my approach to the sessions, depending on the client’s needs.

As a Transpersonal/Integrative psychotherapist, my objective is to increase self-worth through healing leading to a better quality of life.

Through my practice, I like to focus on my client’s positive qualities. I aim to celebrate and encourage their skills, by way of acknowledgement and understanding.

It is important to me that I help guide the client to intuitively take the lead on their therapeutic journey, and it is my responsibility to facilitate this personal development and growth.

I have worked with a range of presenting issues such as attachment, eating disorders, dysfunctional relationships, addiction, family dynamics, sexual identity, relationship issues, grief, body image, shame, sexual trauma and existentialism. I am confident in my work, and that I offer a non-judgemental space to share.

My work with couple’s centres around developing effective communication, promoting strength in the relationship, modifying dysfunctional behaviour, and creating a space where partners can safely express themselves to one another. In January 2025, I will be receiving training in psychosexual therapy, to better develop my knowledge of intimacy and sexual dysfunction in my couples and individual work.

It is important for me to extract the underlying issues and encourage growth once these have been acknowledged. I foster an empathetic environment that, when necessary, allows me to challenge the clients’ position, to bring about a new outlook in the relationship.

I am currently pursuing training in psychosexual therapy at the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology, where I am enrolled in a certification program focused on addressing sexual issues and dysfunction. My expertise lies in assisting individuals and couples in tackling and resolving matters pertaining to sexual health, intimacy, and relationships. My goal is to create a secure and welcoming environment for clients to discuss their concerns regarding sexual dysfunction, relationship difficulties, or emotional obstacles to intimacy.

My approach

I employ various techniques such as mindfulness, visualisations, dream exploration, art materials, journaling, goal setting, drama therapy and fostering of intuition.

My Background:

  • Transpersonal and Integrative Psychotherapy Diploma course
  • Foundation Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Diploma course in Couples Counselling-CCPE
  • Volunteer at the Maytree Respite Centre, for clients/patients experiencing suicidal ideation
  • Placement at Homerton Hospital Acute Psychiatric Ward
  • Place acceptance on CICS Psychosexual course

I am currently available to work with clients face-to-face and online.
