Helena Berg

Diploma in Gestalt Counselling MBACP
Helena Berg - Therapist & Counsellor

Hello I’m Helena.

I’m a BACP registered Gestalt counsellor working with adults, both face to face and online. My approach is friendly, jargon free, with a healthy balance of empathy and challenge.

I believe we can all benefit from having a space to be ourselves, where we don’t have to pretend. A space where we are truly seen and heard without judgement. Whatever difficulties you are facing, whether it’s an issue you know well or something that’s just out of reach, we can work collaboratively to bring what’s hidden into awareness.

As a Gestalt therapist, I work with you to explore thoughts, feelings and body responses, revealing what’s unfinished from your past, and how those experiences may be showing up in your present. Understanding your unique patterns of relating and raising self-awareness can help you make choices with more clarity. Giving you the energy to reconnect to yourself, others and the world.

Some of the issues I work with are, anxiety, depression, loneliness, grief and loss, relationship issues, adoption, low self-esteem, shame and bereavement.

Before my training at the Gestalt Centre, my years as a freelance photographer has led to an interest in working with creatives and difficulties in the creative process. As an Asian mixed-race therapist, another area of interest is working with issues of identity, intersectionality and the effects of racism and adoption.
