Rachel Pretty

Gestalt Therapist, MBACP
Rachel Pretty - Therapist & Counsellor

Welcome, I’m Rachel, a qualified therapist registered with The BACP.

Do you feel stuck? Weighed down? Tired of repeating the same patterns, often feeling like you get in your own way?

Working together, I can help you to bring awareness to whatever feels difficult or limiting, supporting you to accept what you wish to live with and to change what no longer fits.

As a Gestalt therapist, I work with the here and now, exploring how your unique experiences continue to shape you today. Anything that has left a mark, which shows up in your relationship with yourself and others, will have a profound effect on how you feel and the choices you make.

I provide a space in which to experiment with different ways of being. I see you as you are, and also as you hope to be. I will listen openly and challenge you when a different perspective feels useful. I am committed to co-creating a relationship and an environment in which you feel seen, listened to and safe enough to bring all of yourself, not just the parts which feel comfortable, but also those which feel raw in some way and more hidden.

Areas I work with

I work with clients who are experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, grief & loss, low self-esteem and identity shifts.

Alongside my work as a therapist, I am also a qualified midwife and have over 25 years of experience working in The NHS supporting people through fertility, pregnancy and parenthood, including working at a fertility and pregnancy charity.

Contact

It’s important to find a therapist you feel you can work well with so I offer a free initial 20 minute meeting so we can get a sense of one another. If we then decide to work together, we can explore what feels right for you- a short period of sessions or longer term therapy. Do get in touch if you have any questions.
